Turkey: Bodrum for one day

"Just living is not enough... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower."

Hans Christian Andersen

At the end of May 2015, I went on summer holiday to the Greece Island Kos. I could see the Turkish coast from Kos, so jumped on the boat and went to Bodrum for one day. As a Turkish girl who lives in the Netherlands, it was great to be back in my own country.

The boat left in the morning, well on holidays i'm not used to get up early. However, I was smart enough not to party the night before. So gladly I was able to woke up, dress up and even had a nice breakfast before getting up on the boat.

We are living in the beginning of March 2016 now, but I still can remember the sweet salty fragrance of the sea. It was around 29 degrees celsius but slightly cold in the wind created by the speed of the boat. No matter the chilly breeze, I definitely enjoyed at the upper front of the boat. With my camera around my neck, I was ready to enter Turkey.

Hello on the other side

I used to start with a quote that I thought that suited my text, but lets start different. Again I haven't been blogging for a long long time. So I thought that it would be good to greet blogging with Adele's ooo so famous song ''Hello''. To be honest, if you would ask me to sing along with her, I really have no idea about the lyrics.

I have been traveling a lot during the past period. I have been in Greece, Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Turkey and in some different cities within the Netherlands. I have more than enough to show and write about.

I'm not sure if I will be able to keep up with my adventures, since I also have to write my thesis this semester. However, we will see.

A day at the aquarium --> Istanbul

" The tiny fish enjoy themselves in the sea "

-D.H. Lawrence

I don't know if I have mentioned it ever but I'm from Turkey and I have family living there (e.g. my father :p). So I have been to Turkey in the summer break. Well as I just told my family lives in Istanbul but we (my dad and I) had planned to fulfill our free days in Cesme (a place near Izmir). My dad was going to travel with the car from Istanbul to Cesme and I had decided to join him with this journey of 5 hours. I took the plane from Amsterdam to Istanbul, however he had some business to do so I have stayed one night (2 days) in Istanbul and fulfilled my time with a visit to an aquarium near the office of my dad.

Double touristing: Barcelona

Here in Barcelona, it's the architects who built the buildings that made the city iconic who are the objects of admiration - not a bunch of half-witted monarchs.

"Double touristing, what the hell is that!?" is probably what the most people think when they read the heading. This means going to see another place in a foreign country while you are already a tourist there. I have been on Holiday to Malgrat de Mar ,which was by the way a great holiday, and visited Barcelona for a day.

Tourist in own country: Volendam

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.”

-Robert Louis Stevenson

It's been a long time that I have posted a message. I have a lot of excuses but no need to mention them, haha, would take to long. And you know, if you need there are thousand of excuses that you can use. However I have a lot of stories to tell know. Let's start with my trip to Volendam, the well known touristic fishers town in Holland.

Tourist in own country: Zwolle

" Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education. In the elder, a part of experience "
      -Francis Bacon

As I told in my last message I have a lot of to tell so I thought lets start with a one-day tourist trip, that I made with a good friend of me. It was a kind of impulsive trip. We had a 'date' together and just looked up what we could do and after a lot of searching we found Zwolle the place to be. Thanks to NS coupons for trips in Holland.

We had a '2nd person free' coupon for museum de Fundatie.  That was our excuse to go to Zwolle. When we left our home town it was rainy so we hadn't brought sunglasses with us and my dear friend Niloo can't go on path on a sunny day without sunglasses. So the first thing we did was buying new sunglasses after our train trip of 1,5h. Then we jumped into the bus through the city centrum.
